Historia

The Basingstoke and Deane Canoe Club was formed in 1987. It is affiliated to the British Canoeing and currently has over 100 members of all ages. The Club runs activities throughout the year but leans towards recreational paddling, organizing regular weekend trips throughout the year as well as an annual trip. These alternate between the Alps, where the white water is more reliable, and the West coast of Scotland for sea kayaking. Basingstoke and Deane Canoe Club encourages family membership and many non-canoeing family members and friends take part in our trips and social activities. The Club is run by a group of about twenty volunteers. We have fully qualified and CRB checked BCU coaches in several of the canoeing disciplines and can organize courses and activities to cater for a wide range of abilities, including BCU 3 Star, BCU Aquatic First Aid and Foundation Safety and Rescue Training.
