Avril Kelly is raising £1,000 for The Harry Johnson Trust
About
The Harry Johnson Trust was established in November 2014 following the death of seven year old Harry in July of that year. Harry died following a nine-month fight with Double Hit Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. The trust offers help and support to children and teenagers who receive care from the Oncology Team at The Princess Royal Hospital in Shropshire. I hope to raise as much money as I can to help support this amazing charity. The money will go towards everyday essentials for children during their stay in hospital. Perfect Pillows - After losing their hair from chemotherapy, children sometimes find ‘normal’ pillowcases are rough against the delicate skin on their bare head. Soft fleece pillowcases and blankets are given by the charity Memory Bears - Sadly, not all childhood cancers are curable. The trust offers loved ones the opportunity to have a patchwork quilt, or a teddy bear made from their child’s clothing, something to hug and remember. Family Fun - To give children gift vouchers for local shops, restaurants or places to visit so they can spend quality time with those they love or buy a little toy or game to help pass the time in hospital. Harry’s House - The trust is fortunate to own a static caravan in Mid Wales, which families can use for much needed time together. Beads of Courage - The trust funds the Beads of Courage program at The Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.
