I am fundraising for Pafras by running the Leeds 10k on 5th of September. This is my first time doing any kind of running race. I originally signed up to do this run in July 2020 when I had 0 experience running but there was a bit of a pandemic. I'm a little more prepared now and happy that I should finally be able to do the run in September as I love the chance to contribute a little to the work that Pafras do. Pafras (Positive action for refugees and asylum seekers) are a community-based charity that supports destitute asylum seekers in the Leeds area. They offer emergency crisis intervention (food parcels, vouchers and emergency accommodation), independent OISC-regulated immigration advice, casework and integrated mental health support. They've worked with refugees in the Leeds area since 2002 and the pandemic has put an additional strain on their volunteers and finances.
