Hi everyone,
I’m running my first Marathon (42.2km) in London on the 27th April. I would like to raise some money for a wonderful grassroots charity based in Leeds who supports people seeking asylum and protection.
As governments past and present continue to create a hostile environment for those fleeing terror by either making the process complicated and prolonged or segregating people or dehumanising people by calling them “illegal”.
It’s so important as a collective community to choose humanity and empathy. Just a few quid would be grand - I know times are hard for everyone ❤️
PAFRAS provides advice and casework especially around asylum seeker process and legal representation, mental health support and food parcels and toiletries.
They also support young migrants aged 16-24 through a dedicated project.
