Story
A long period of serious illness has led me to gain weight, lose fitness, and become a couch potato. Medication and my condition (although now managed) mean that losing weight is harder for me. It has been a difficult time in my life and has affected my whole life and my family. Food has been my consolation, and I am known in close family circles as ‘Shelly three puds’. I love cake, crisps, cheese in fact all the bad stuff. Now the time has come to change my life for the better but it won’t be easy as my will power is not strong. I have started to transform my health and well-being with a total body challenge. This is not just about weight loss but a total lifestyle change. I will need a lot of support - my husband and family are already giving me lots of encouragement but I need a bit more to keep me going which is where you can help. I am one of the trustees and a volunteer for Home-start Kernow based in Redruth. This is a leading local charity which offers support, friendship and practical help to parents throughout Cornwall. Please visit our website for more information: homestartkernow.org.uk ' Being a parent, whatever your situation, can be very difficult, especially when children are young. Many parents feel exhausted and overwhelmed by the stresses of family life, particularly if family and friends are unable to help. For some parents it’s a particular struggle because they are also experiencing post-natal depression, illness, disability, isolation or multiple birth. That’s when parents need support. That’s when Home-Start Kernow can help' You could help me by digging deep and giving generously via my Givey page. This will help a very worthy cause and give me the extra incentive needed to complete my challenge. Thank you for supporting me and Cornish families. Michelle (Shelly three puds)
