Thank you for visiting my Givey page. On the 2nd & 3rd September 2016 I'm cycling the C2C route from Whitehaven to Sunderland. The 135miles route will pass up and over the Lake District and North Pennines and involves a total climb of approximately 12,000ft (the equivalent of 4 ascents of Scafell Pike). I'm hoping to raise as much money as possible for a fantastic charity called War Child. They do lots of great work, in all parts of the world, to help improve children's lives that are torn apart by war. This is my first attempt at a multiple day, long distance ride and I wanted to set myself a real challenge since taking up cycling in August last year. If I can also help to raise money for such an incredibly worthy cause, and use this as an incentive to help me up the hills and over the finish line, then as far as I'm concerned that’s a ‘win win’ situation.
