About

In rural India, women are responsible for finding and fetching water for their families - all the water they need for drinking, washing, cooking, cleaning. They walk miles, carry heavy burdens, wait for hours and pay exorbitant prices. The work is back-breaking and life-consuming.

A roof rainwater harvesting tank enables families to catch and store rainwater, giving them clean water at home all year round. Girls are able to go to school and women can work to improve their livelihoods or spend time with their families.

Please watch Kamla Devi talk about how she has been walking for water for half of her life, she is 64 years old. This is the impact your donations make for people like Kamla and her family.

I will be covering the distance in the London Marathon that three women in rural India walk each day to get clean water for their families. Help me raise funds to improve the lives of as many of these women and girls as possible.

Please also listen below to Om Prakash, WaterHarvest's India Director and one of the most inspiring people I've ever met. He's talking about his experience on the ground working with the villagers and the drastic changes access to water can make for the lives of women and girls in these communities.
