To support me with a donation to WaterHarvest and find out more about the charity’s work, please click on “Read more” on my Fundraiser page below. Having followed the Couch to 5k programme during lockdown (and then lapsed due to an enforced rest following minor surgery), I found out in May that WaterHarvest was seeking a London-based supporter to take up its one London Marathon place. I printed a Beginners' 16-week Training Programme and rashly decided to take the plunge before i get any older. i copied the schedule into my diary, invested in new running shoes and steeled myself to head out early or late around work, social commitments and the unusually hot summer weather. I wouldn't say I'm a convert, but I managed to get to nearly the end of August without missing a single outing.
