On May 17th, I’ll attempt to run the Hackney Half to fundraise for The Unity Project. Failing that, I'll probably walk or stroll, but I promise that I will drag my body across that finish line. The Unity Project is a charity in Islington which supports people who have the 'no recourse to public funds' (NRPF) condition on their immigration status. This policy prevents migrants with limited leave to remain to access public funds, and it mostly affects single parents, in particular women or pregnant women living in abject poverty. I have been volunteering for The Unity Project since May 2019 and witnessed first hand all the time and had work that is dedicated to running the charity. I am asking for your donations to help support this great organisation and the amazing work they do to help make this world a little less hostile to migrants.
