I will be running the Hackney Half 2019 in May on behalf of Circle Collective. Having worked at Circle Collective in 2016, I understand the importance of this charity in the local area it serves. Turly Humphreys and her team have done fantastic work and I am looking forward to contributing to its success going forward. Circle Collective is a local charity that helps people aged 16-30 into permanent, life-changing work. These young people face barriers into employment, such as limited or no qualifications, disabilities, history of offending and no work-place experience. The trainees attend Circle’s ‘Back Your Future’ employability programme, where they attend employability skills training workshops, 1:1 mentoring sessions and have access to networking opportunities with employers. Furthermore, they gain first-hand work experience by undertaking shifts in Circle’s two on-trend streetwear stores. Since 2012, Circle Collective has helped over 350 young people into permanent jobs, with 75% of the young people who complete Circle’s programme gaining permanent employment.
