Nick Griffiths, Olivia Cockburn, Ed de Vries & Martin Connolly are "running" the full Olympic distance format of the London Triathlon on Sunday 3 August. While the distances may sound daunting (we will each complete a 1.5km open water swim, 40km cycle and 10km run,) the good news is that all of us will be carrying ample buoyancy / ballast to minimise any chances of sinking or our bikes coming unstuck from the road surface. On the run section, well, just pity us. We are raising money for Brain Tumour Research, a cause which is very close to our hearts after we tragically lost Olly's lovely dad, Rae, to this horrific disease in February 2013. Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults in the UK, yet receive less than 1% of the national spend on cancer research. BTR are the only national charity in the UK funding sustainable and continuous research into brain tumours. We would be extremely grateful for donations of any size whatsoever; go on, just picture four genetically unfit mathletes sweating through their lycras for countless hours!!
