OPENhouse is a charity in Stroud, Gloucestershire that provides housing, education, and complex mental health support. On Christmas day the Bishop of Gloucester will be joining us to help serve lunch to those alone and in need on Christmas day. What we need to make Christmas OPENhouse a success: People! We are keen to reach as many people as we can who are lonely and/or hungry this Christmas. If you or anyone you know would like to join our Christmas OPENhouse please just let us know: (01453 759 400 / info@openhouseuk.org) Volunteers On Christmas day: In the kitchen - to help prepare and cook the lunch, to serve food, and wash up; Providing transport for people to get to the Community Kitchen who can’t make their own way there; In the lead up: To wrap gifts; help coordinate the logistics of the day. Donations: (Any of the following would be very gratefully appreciated). Food We will be serving a traditional Christmas lunch (with vegetarian option) any donations towards the meal, condiments or non-alcoholic drinks for our Christmas table. Crockery and cutlery We will need more saucepans, serving bowls and plates, bowls, glasses and cutlery. Gifts We would like to give each person who comes for lunch a gift and would be grateful for suitable donations. Suggested ideas for gifts include: Toiletries; Chocolates / sweet treats; Gloves; Scarfs; Warm Hat; Socks; Photo frames; Ornaments; Calendars; hot water bottles.
