Mike Price, Youth Project Coordinator, is running the Trail Marathon Wales Race which is taking place on the 21st of June 2014. The Race will have a full (26 mile / 42 km) route in the stunning trails and tracks of the world renowned Coed y Brenin Forest Park in the Snowdonia National Park.
The course takes in fully marked trail single track, forest roads and paths in some of the most stunning forestry and heathland in the UK. The Trail has been described as brutal, epic, tough and fantastic all at the same time as well as a tough physical event.
This is to raise funds for tools and a secure tool store which will be used to enable the broadening of the education element of the Fordhall Community Land Initiatives Youth Education Project. The Project is now in its second year and has been hugely successful working with young people from neighbouring Secondary schools who struggle in the conventional school setting. We have been relying on tools that have been kindly donated but they have been well used and we need to replace and add to them.
