On May 1st 2022 I'll be cycling 100 miles at the Tour de Manc (the 'Classic Manc' route). You can browse the event details at https://www.tourdemanc.co.uk/. My mum (Jane) sadly passed away in February this year - aged 57 - after an extended battle with breast cancer. She had worked for Embrace, a Wigan-based charity supporting disabled people and their families, since 2017 and was very proud of her role there. Following her death I learned that she was a highly valued employee, colleague and friend (via messages conveyed to me by an array of her associates). Therefore, I'm happily taking this opportunity to fundraise for Embrace - in memory of my mum's passion and contribution, as well as the high esteem in which she was held by others. Whilst I've cycled this distance once before, the route is especially hilly - it will undoubtedly test my fitness to its limits! Any donations will be warmly appreciated, providing me with the added motivation to reach the finish line one piece (and hopefully in a respectable time).
