We'll be putting our lycra on for another epic cycling adventure of 100K from Leeds To York raising money for Harmony House Children's Day Centre just outside Delhi. Most of us are in our 50s, 60s and 70s so this is no easy task. Please help us! YoGift (UK registered charity 1197129) raises funds in the UK which we then direct to organisations working on the ground in India to alleviate child poverty. YoGift was established not only as a response to the worsening of conditions for many people in poverty in India, but also to offer a practical way to celebrate our gratitude for the gift of yoga in our lives. To give thanks to the country where many spiritual and wellbeing practices that we value so much originated. Harmony House is a children’s day centre in an area called Gurgaon, just outside Delhi. It’s located next to a slum area where most of its children live. It takes in over 1000 children every day and supports them in education, nutrition, healthcare, well-being, vocational training and employment and careers placement. As YoGift grows our intention is that other children’s centres around India will benefit in the same way. We recognise that we have small beginnings, but we have big aims and ambitions to develop and grow our fundraising, so that we can bring more partners on board and through them support as many children as possible.
