In 2022, Sally suffered 2 miscarriages. 1 in March and the second in October which was an ectopic pregnancy causing Sally to have surgery and later on an injection to remove the pregnancy. This miscarriage ended up lasting until December 2022. It caused a severe amount of trauma and upset for both Sally and Ryan. From then, Sally looked into different ways to get support with the dark feelings and emotions she was experiencing and the support she felt Ryan may have needed as so often the questions asking about feelings tended to be directed to Sally. Footsteps were recommended as an option for support and offered us 12 weeks free couples counselling. So far the support and help we have received from them has been incredible and we feel very strongly about giving back in some way. Footsteps Counselling & Care is a charitable organisation offering compassionate counselling and care for anyone in the Gloucestershire area affected by pregnancy-related issues, the loss of a baby for any reason, traumatic birth, fertility problems and pregnancy-related mental health issues. Their vision is that anyone affected by fertility or pregnancy-related issues, traumatic birth or baby loss can access compassionate personalised support on the journey of coping with their traumatic experiences.
