About
Teenage Mental Health is in crisis. Numbers of young people with serious illness are spiralling, and our mental health wards are disproportionately filled with young people. As the generation who allowed this situation to arise, we need to get to grips with this epidemic, and do what we can to support those suffering. Our family have had close contact with this, and it has been a harrowing time. We are seeking to put something back, and help young people who don’t deserve for their lives to be turned upside down. Swimming has helped both our family in tough times, and young people who have suffered - and especially helpful has been cold water. This year I am aiming to swim once for every day of the year. There are no wetsuits involved, and many swims are outside (when possible). In as many locations as possible, in as wide a range of temperatures as possible, and as regularly as possible. Please support generously, and consider young people, about to embark on their young adult lives, struck down and halted in their tracks by mental health illness. This is a serious business - let’s try and help these young people. Rich.
