IN A SPIN FOR OPEN COUNTRY! Please support our members, volunteers and supporters as they take on an epic cycle ride with a difference! For the second year running, we are running our Zoom Spin-a-thon which will see a team of intrepid cyclists spin for between 2 and 13 hours on an exercise bike - non-stop! The challenge will take place on 28th November between 9am and 10pm and we're also inviting people to invent their own cycling challenges to do on the same day - get in touch if you have any bright ideas! During the warmer months Open Country members and volunteers would usually be out on our fleet of tandem bikes, enjoying cycling together along canal tow paths, bridleways and country roads. Our charity ensures anyone with a disability can enjoy all the benefits of cycling with countryside rides on evenings and weekends with five Tandem Clubs around Yorkshire; Harrogate, Ripon, Wakefield, Wetherby and York. Whilst not the same as countryside group rides, some of us have benefitted from running a weekly Zoom Spin Class for the last 18 months and this challenge will help us celebrate out new found hobby. Last year we raised almost £3,000 thanks to your wonderful donations and we would love to raise a similar amount again this year. We know that Christmas is just around the corner and it has been a hard time financially for many, but any contribution, big or small would be very gratefully appreciated. All donations will go to the work of Open Country, who ensure anyone with a disability can get out into the countryside through a range of fun and unique activities including adapted cycling, weekday walking, wheelchair outings, adventure sports and nature conservation projects. www.opencountry.org.uk Thank you!
