Farhan Khalid is raising £2,000 for Islamic Relief
About
On the 7th of June I am taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge, where I'll be climbing the three highest mountains in the UK (Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England, and Snowdon in Wales) ALL 3, one after the other, within just 24 hours to raise money for the desperate situation in Syria. Over 3 years of unrest have created the worst humanitarian crisis in the modern history of the region. Over 6 million Syrians are in need for humanitarian aid. Thats a population 6 TIMES THE NUMBER of every man, woman and child in BIRMINGHAM. The Syrian crisis has become so overwhelming, and funds so overstretched, that aid agencies are having to choose which people get help and which are left to fend for themselves. Amnesty International recently reported the desperate people of Syria have resorted to eating cats and dogs to stave off starvation. Your vital support will help deliver food and medicines deep inside Syria, and helping hundreds of thousands of refugees gain access to life-saving healthcare services, essential surgical operations, as well as care in childbirth, including Caesarean sections. Those closest to me know the scale of this challenge; and without doubt this is the most difficult thing I have ever done, but crucially it cannot begin to come close to what the people of Syria are going through, and I cannot just sit by and watch; doing nothing is just not an option. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The believer's shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity." Please please dig deep and help raise as much money as possible and PRAY to bring back HOPE to so many fractured lives. Thanking you Farhan PS - Take a minute to watch this video http://youtu.be/9PHpwWnazsY to find out more about why I'm doing this.
