Childhood leukaemia is the most common of all childhood cancers, but children's lives can be saved by transplants. The Anthony Nolan Trust unites children with tissue matches when no one in their family can donate. 90% of donors give stem cells in a procedure similar to giving blood. It takes 100 to perform the tissue identification from a saliva sample to get someone on the register, but that donor can save a life in an afternoon.
