Refugees may have to travel thousands of kilometres to escape war, conflict or persecution in their countries. At Leeds Beckett STAR (Student Action for Refugees), we are aiming to collectively travel the equivalent of the distance from London to Syria. From the 1st-28th February, our members will walk, run, cycle (or even swim!) the length of the 2000km journey. Last year we collectively traveled 463km, the equivalent of the distance from Leeds Beckett campus to Calais. This year we are stepping it up with a bigger target and hoping to raise even more money!
We will be raising funds for PAFRAS (Positive Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers), a charity working within Leeds to provide emergency support to refugees and asylum seekers. PAFRAS works within the community to provide everything from food parcels, to advice and financial support. We appreciate any donation, large or small, whatever you are able to contribute will make a difference. PAFRAS will receive 100% of the donations. Thank you for your support!
