About
I'm 40 this year! To mark the occasion, it would be fantastic if instead of buying me a card or present, you make a donation to UNICEF. If you wouldn't have got me a card/present anyway, then you will experience even more of a warm glow by donating!
UNICEF is the United Nations Children's Fund (but note that they receive no money from the UN's budget; they are entirely funded by charitable donations). They are active in over 150 countries worldwide, including Syria, Iraq, Gaza, South Sudan, and also the UK (the children in the picture above are refugees in Syria).
You can find out more at the website Unicef.org.uk.
My birthday isn't for a couple of months, but as there are a number of urgent causes in the world, I'm starting now, hoping to meet my target by my birthday, or if not the end of 2014.
Thank-you so much for any donation you can give, of any size.
