The above link is the best and simplest summary of T1 I've ever come across. Even if you don't / can't donate, please do read it. JDRF are a research organisation, who have the sole mission of finding a cure for type 1. Type 1 is not lifestyle induced, it's a genetic and (currently) terminal illness.
I've had type 1 diabetes for 25 years now, and am going to be doing more and more with and for JDRF over the coming months and years. In recent months I've become a father, and lost a close friend very suddenly. So I want to do something.
This starts with Manchester 10k in May, the Great North Run in September, setting up a support group for T1 people and their families in central Manchester, and working on putting together a (large) event around sport and type 1 in the Autumn in the North West...
