About

3 members of the PAFRAS team, Laurie (Senior Casework), Sharon (Mental health support worker) and Yasmin (Domestic Violence Support Worker) are attempting the Leeds Triathlon to raise money for our hardship payments which support our clients seeking asylum in times of need.

They will be entering as a relay team with Sharon swimming, Laurie cycling and Yasmin running. No one on the triathlon team has ever done anything like this before and are very much out of their comfort zone. Sharon needs to buy a wetsuit ASAP, Laurie's goal is to not crash his bike into anyone and Yasmin just hopes she can run a hilly 5km and not embarrass her kids!

Your donations could be used to provide mobile phone top-up, so people can keep in contact with loved ones near and far, or towards travel costs so people can get to important doctor or solicitor appointments.

PAFRAS could not survive without the kindness of our supporters and we recognise that this is a difficult time for everyone. Unfortunately the cost of living crisis is felt particularly sharply by our clients as they have No Recourse to Public Funds- this means they do not have the safety net of the welfare system and are unable to access mainstream food banks.

As we are a small community based charity, all donations big and small are noticed and felt by the people we support. We are extremely grateful for whatever you can afford!
