For those of you that have known me for some time will know that any type of physical fitness is, or was, not my bag. Well that's all changed now. For some strange reason I had an epiphany and decided to take up running earlier this year, and found I actually liked it. When I started I couldn't even run 1 mile without stopping. Now I'm up to 2. Seriously, on the 21st September I'll be running the Run Reigate Half Marathon. For avoidance of doubt, that's 13.1 miles. Gulp. I'm going to be raising money for Fun in Action for Children. Fun in Action provides a one-on-one befriending service to children from hugely disadvantaged lone parent families in the Brighton and Hove area of East Sussex . It's such an amazing local charity, but does not get the coverage that the larger charities do. My partner Dean volunteers as a befriender for Fun in Action, so it's personal to us, and I know first hand how much any donations are appreciated. You can visit their website at funinaction.org.uk. Finally you'll notice I'm using Givey for my fundraising, and not one of the usual fund raising sites. That's because Givey don't charge the administration fees to the charity that many of the other sites do. ALL of your donation and gift aid will go directly to the charity. Thanks for reading xx
