Urgent challenges are being faced by all our friends in Blantyre, Malawi due to the cost of living crisis and leaving many destined for poverty. Funds raised will go direct to Nancholi to support the families. Devaluation of local currency has led to a huge increase in the cost of commodities. 50kg of maize has risen from 10,000 Kwacha to 30,000 Kwacha. Fertilizer, which is used in maize production, has risen by 199 percent since May 2020, more recently prices have hiked from 23,000 Kwacha to 75,000 Kwacha. Local communities often rely on funding on a local and international level, this has been significantly reduced following the global Covid-19 pandemic and further worsened by the war in Ukraine.
