Anybody who knows me well also knows that in the past I've never run unless I was being chased or somebody was dangling a chocolate bar in front of my nose! However, since starting a couch to 5K training programme back in June I've discovered that I actually rather enjoy running, so much so that I've entered the 10K race in the MK Festival of Running. It only seems right that I should raise some money at the same time so I'll be running to raise funds for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, the only adult hospice caring for terminally ill people and their families across the whole of West Surrey and part of North East Hampshire. All the hospice's services are free of charge to its patients and their families but it needs to raise over 15,000 per day in order to maintain the excellent level of care which it provides. Less than 15% of that cost is covered by the Government and NHS meaning that the hospice depends on donations to cover the shortfall. I've picked this particular charity because it holds a special place in the heart of a good friend of mine and what's important to my friends is important to me. Any donation, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Sam
