Education is life-transforming for Maasai girls.
About
Providing girls among the Maasai people in Kenya with full educational opportunities is our mission. Education is their pathway to success in life, and the freedom to choose a suitable career for themselves. Obtaining their own qualifications is life-transforming. The Joseph Thomson Maasai Trust has been working in partnership with the social enterprise Across Maasailand Initiative (AMLI) for four years now in order to achieve this goal - as an effective means of making it happen for Maasai girls. But this is not a quick fix, so we are in it for the long haul that full education requires. Secondary and Higher education are what we are aiming to raise funds for. And we know from what the girls themselves have told us, that as they progress on this path, so their horizons widen and they can see the way ahead for their chosen courses and careers. The girls also tell us that because they know they are getting so much out of their education, they want to inspire, and be positive role models for others to follow. Each year we have a fundraising target to meet, so that we can then transfer the money raised direct to AMLI for the positive purposes we share. Your help in this mission, is warmly appreciated.
