Hi, I am part of the executive team of Play2Give, an award winning Oxfordshire fundraising organisation which has been recognised with a prestigious Thames Valley Charity of the Year award, earnt a Points of Light Award from the Prime Minister and more recently our Founder and CEO Andy Baker was awarded an MBE by Her Majesty The Queen in the New Year Honours 2021. Last November, came the day that broke our hearts, with the loss of my mam Angela Norris, who died after a brave battle with terminal lung cancer. She absolutely adored Play2Give, and was her No 1 charity and did everything she could to help whether sparing loose change into a P2G pot in her kitchen to always buying raffle tickets, to helping store tombola gifts and toys for our present drops and donating in other ways. As Head of Fundraising & Development for P2G I have decided to shave my head on Saturday, January 30th to kick start P2G's 2021 of fundraising off, as the organisation approaches 14 years old. The money raised will be split by Play2Give 50/50 between the British Lung Foundation and the Kamran's Ward, the cancer ward at the Oxford Children's Hospital. We hope to raise up to £10k this year for good causes. P2G has raised over £250,000 for Oxfordshire charities including nearly £70k for the Children's hospital since 2007, including funding a patient room at £40k unveiled in 2017. By supporting us with any donations at all, you will be continuing to help P2G's mission - changing, transforming and saving lives across Oxfordshire and wider. Pictures of my shave will be shared once completed, so you can see that I have completed our very special fundraiser, for a very special lady in my life who was an one in a million, and fought so bravely in her final few months.
