Having never been to Scotland before, Robbie and I have decided to take a little bike ride there as an alternative to a summer holiday. Our journey will start at Lands End on the 1st September and finish 9 days and 920 miles later in John OGroats.
While LEJOG is something weve wanted to do for some time now, we realise that it has the capacity to go beyond our misguided sense of achievement which is why were also trying to raise a bit of money for the Alzheimers society in the process.
As poor little peasant boys limping from one student loan to the next, we know how far even 5 can stretch. But for this charity, 5 means that they can provide a 30 minute session which gives vital information to sufferers of dementia, whilst our target of 500 would fund researchers for two weeks to continue their search for a cure.
So if you could spare those couple of extra bevvies at the weekend or that cheeky accumulator on the football by sponsoring us to go end-to-end instead, know that it would go a long way to helping support people and their families who are facing this debilitating disease.
