Miss Benson, SEND Teacher, has asked for our help to buy desperately needed laptops for pupils with learning disabilities such as dyslexia. Last month, the Friends stepped in to renew the school’s software licence for touch typing training, a skill that helps level the playing field for many of these children when taking notes and writing assignments. However, only a few own a laptop to use in class and the school is unable to buy them for the many who don’t. As Miss Benson explains “It is crucial that we have parity and that all pupils are able to access laptops if they need them so that no one is disadvantaged. That is why we are looking for your help and assistance.” The laptops Miss Benson needs cost around £250 each and we’d love to be able to give her at least 20 of them. They’d be stored securely on site and signed in and out when needed. The more laptops we can get, the more opportunities there are for all pupils. Can you please help us?
