Tom and Kristina have decided to do a triathlon Sunday September 28th to raise money for Open Doors, and in particular their Iraq appeal
I'm sure all of you have seen the news about ISIS in the Iraq region and the horrifying consequences of the ISIS militants' advancement.
We are wanting to support our brothers and sisters who have had to flee their homes. We are continually hearing amazing stories of the faith of these people in Iraq and the amazing works they are doing for not only other Christians but also the other minorities that have also been driven out by ISIS.
As a worldwide church we are thankful that God has chosen his Church to be a light to the nations, to partner with him in his plan to save us.
The Christian gospel is one of forgiveness and grace, and this is a powerful message in such an awful war zone. Forgiveness will be so vital if their is to be any future reconciliation, and thank God that we are forgiven by Jesus' death on the cross and that by the help of his Spirit living in us, we are able to forgive others. It is hard to imagine how forgiveness is possible in these circumstances, but it is supernaturally possible by the grace of God.
So we would love to encourage you to give to these people, our family, to help them to stay in Iraq to continue to be Christ's hands and feet!
