You all know how close StreetPaws is to my heart. And now, during Corona, we are needed more than ever! Can you imagine how many homeless people will have to be hospitalised? Tragically, but true, no doubt many of them will die. They already often have a poorer immune system and underlying health issues. What is going to happen to their dogs? StreetPaws will step in. We will do the best we can to ensure that there will be emergency kennel provision for these dogs. We will work hard to install kennels within hostels, so that more homeless people have a chance to access shelter and stand a better chance in these very difficult times. Any small amount you can give will be put to very good use. I appreciate that we all feel vulnerable at this point in time, and I know it's a lot, to ask for money, when we don't know what the future holds for ourselves. Now for the challenge: I haven't run 10k for years. Even then it was a challenge. I haven't run at all for years! But I'm going to do it. And my aim is to run it in under 1 hour. I'm far from being able to do that right now- this really is a challenge for me! Obviously, the Great Manchester Run will be cancelled. Or postponed. However, I've started training, and I will continue unless there is a curfew that stops me from running on the moors with nobody else insight. Here is my promise to you: I will run 10k on the 24th May 2020 regardless, come rain or shine (again: unless I'm in lock down and not permitted out), in Saddleworth (hilly!) and without the supporting crowd I would've had at the Great Manchester Run. And if and when the actual Great Manchester Run happens, I will take part in that as planned and run the 10k again! I'll need your support to keep me going. This is going to be tough.
