In 2013, around 4500 organ transplants were carried out in the UK. For many, these procedures, whilst improving their quality of life significantly, can lead to associated strains and hardships.
That's why the Transplant Health Fund (THF) is there to lend a hand to transplant patients in achieving goals and doing things they wouldn't otherwise have a chance to, such as helping talented athletes compete at the Transplant Games. In addition, the THF funds projects for communities without ready or affordable access to transplant facilities - this year they are providing education and dialysis equipment in rural Uganda.
So that's why, on June 28th, Team Godi will be doing the Grand Union Canal Walking Challenge to raise money to support these projects! Starting out from London, the Team will head north with Anil doing 25km to Hayes and Ayesha and Nadia doing the 50km walk to Watford.
Anything you can give to support the Team in this endeavour will make a significant difference to the lives of patients in the UK and beyond!
