Well, we did it! We managed to redecorate the nursery in Bayswater in three days. I'm putting a few pics on Instagram so that you can see what we did. It was fun and it worked. The nursery is now a bright green haven with white woodwork and it's very exciting for the children and parents who go there. If you would like to give something now, please do. You know how annoying it is when friends ask you to sponsor their 'charity' bike ride along the Great Wall of China or their 'charity' trek along the Machu Pichu trail? Well this is the opposite of that. Rather than have a charity holiday, we're doing something genuinely useful and asking for sponsorship for that. If you sponsor this event you will be giving money to people who are doing something really useful for the cash. On Friday 18th June to Sunday 20th June a group of friends and I are going to re-decorate a nursery in Bayswater run by the charity Action for Children. We're getting all of the materials sponsored by Dulux, including paint, floor-covering, brushes, cupboards and children's play equipment. We've also had help from K&M McLoughlin Decorating Ltd in planning the redecoration and setting out Health and Safety. The idea is that we will be doing something actually useful for the charity, while raising money for it. A win-win I think! As you may know, Action for Chidren helps to lift children and their families out of poverty and neglect. They have projects around the country including the one in Bayswater. There is huge and growing need for what they do so do please help by sponsoring us to do this work and bring hope and help to thousands of children in need. Update! The food for the three days is being provided by the fantastic Le Pain Quotidien - they have a branch near to the nursery and are providing sandwiches and buns to keep us all going. Thank you!
