I was born with Cystic Fibrosis,a genetic condition in which the lungs and the digestive system become clogged with sticky mucus. Due to infection ad scarring my lungs deteriorated very quickly and at the age of 30 I faced the decision to go on the transplant list, hoping I would receive healthy lungs in time. In April 2013 I was lucky - I got the log awaited call from my transplant clinic in London and had my double lung transplant. Life is great, still hard work but lots of fun! I can enjoy life again...run,swim,cycle...everything!
I have entered the British Transplant Games with 7 events to raise awareness of organ donation,in honour of my donor and her family and to raise money for Harefield Hospital, the hospital whose surgeons gave me these super lungs and whose staff looked after me so tremendously so they can keep doing what they are doing - saving lives. Thank you for your donation, this website doesn't take any fees so 100% of your donation goes straight to Harefield Hospital!
