My dad has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. He's the gentlest, kindest man I know who has always put others before himself. At present there is no cure and I want to raise as much money as possible to go towards research into this awful disease. One of my earliest memories is my dad taking me Youth Hostelling on my bike at the age of 8, up Hartside Pass (a climb of 1904ft). He still cycles a few hours every day, it simply amazes me how physically fit he is.
My chosen challenge is to do The Coast to Coast cycle route. I know some of my mega fit friends may think this isn't too big a deal. However, at the point of writing this I don't actually own a bike, I'm pretty sure I haven't been on one in at least 25 years and I'm a stone overweight!
Any support you could give me would be greatly appreciated xxx
