Moving house? Tick. Going through the process of becoming an adoptive parent? Tick. 100 mile bike ride in next few weeks? Erm, tick.
Yes, on 10th August, I will be donning tight lycra, but what will make this an extra special day is I will also be getting on a bike too. I'll be joining 24,000 other cyclists to ride from East London to the depths of Surrey and then back again to The Mall. Plus it will all be in aid of a truly wonderful charitable organisation, which now has even greater resonance with me, as I'm going through the aforementioned process with them.
Barnardos helps vulnerable children across the UK no matter who they are, what they have done or what they have been through. They also believe that every child has the right to be brought up in a family of his or her own, whether biological or an alternative.
Please sponsor me on this wacky race for Barnardos and I will then go back to wearing lycra for no particular reason again ;)
Best wishes
Bikey Mikey
