Thank you for visiting my Givey page. As some of you probably know I've been running for a few years now. Never overly long distances, but it's helped me stay sane through a tough couple of years! When I put my name in the ballot for the London Marathon 2022 I wasn't expecting to be successful...but as fate had it, I got a ballot place! Obviously panic set in fairly quickly, but it was an opportunity I had to take. So now I'm in training and am working towards running 26.2miles in the London Marathon on October 2nd! DRUGLINK I work for an amazing charity and couldn't waste this opportunity to raise funds for them. Druglink genuinely change futures by educating people on substances and their effects in order to stop issues relating to substance misuse happening in the future. For those already affected by substance misuse, they provide a recovery and housing service which supports clients (and their family and friends) on their journey. Once in recovery Druglink help people develop skills and confidence to enable them to reintegrate back to a community. They also provide housing for women suffering from domestic violence and run an affordable counselling service for adults in Hertfordshire. It's a wonderful charity and one I'm proud to be raising money for. MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT Alongside raising money for Druglink, I will be donating a proportion of the funds I raise to Macmillan Cancer Support. This is a cause that means a lot to me. In recent years we have lost friends and family to cancer and have seen many people fight this terrible disease. We are still watching close family suffer and I want to do what I can to support this incredible charity. Macmillan do whatever it takes to give people the support they need through extremely difficult times. I wasn't able to set up a single fundraising page to support two charities at the same time, so this seemed to be the best way to split the two causes. Please donate what you can and I will continue to work hard to train for - what is without a doubt - the hardest thing I've done so far in my life!
