I will then pass the remaining funds raised on to Maggie's, "Everyone's home for cancer". As many of you will know, Kate has had a tough 18 months (slight understatement) and the Maggie's centre in Oxford has been such a haven for her. A little message from Kate: "The support I have had from the professional team at Maggie's in Oxford has been utterly invaluable. It has helped me to move forward and to process the past 18 months in a positive way alongside others who have had experiences like mine. Maggie's relies wholly on donations to carry on delivering their fabulous support and help people to take back control when cancer turns life upside down." Thame Rotary Club are a fantastic local charity that raises money to support our local community through a number of initiatives including shelter boxes for Turkey, tree planting in our local community and the 50% of funds raised from my swimathon will go towards various local charities. So, with all of the above in mind, I am going to swim for 55 mins and see how far I get. I am hoping to make it to 3km, 1.875m or 120 lengths. I am pretty confident that I can get there in 60 mins, but 5 mins less will be a real challenge. (It's a difference of 10 lengths if you do the maths.) I will accept any kind donations that you are willing to make, but if you're prepared to double it for making the distance, that would be amazing!!!!
