I’m raising money for North Yorkshire Sport; they are a charity who are passionate about driving positive change through physical activity and sport –making a positive difference in people’s lives. The funds raised will be directed into work and programmes that directly support mental health using the power of sport and physical activity for all people within the county.
I’m taking part in The Great North Run this year, the largest half marathon in the world. Michael and I will run between Newcastle upon Tyne and South Shields with the company of over 57,000 other runners!
I wanted to run for North Yorkshire Sport because as a dance teacher I am passionate about teenagers being active to support their mental and physical wellbeing. I have also done some work with NYS on a consultancy basis and they are a fantastic bunch of people (Lucy, I still owe you a drink for this!).
My training has been going ok-ish (apart from a stained tendon) but I’m hoping to get around as best I can.
