Childbirth Choices Matter is a campaign being delivered in conjunction with White Ribbon Alliance UK. We are striving to bring back self employed midwives in the UK, by creating an indemnity product away from the commercial market. We are also launching an access fund which will enable women and birthing people to receive support if they cannot self fund their care.

This is a feminist issue, midwifery care away from the NHS is a choice that should be available and we are tired of the constraints and costs that the commercial insurance market put on us to offer this care. Self employed midwives are professional, regulated midwives, who chose to work outside of the NHS because that style of working allows them to build the relationships and care that is personalised for their clients.

Your support will enable us to create an indemnity product, with much lower premiums per birth, meaning that we will be able to keep the cost of care lower than if we are operating within the commercial market.

Our access fund will be available to extend the availability of self employed midwifery care to those who cannot self fund but who require a midwife to support them throughout pregnancy, birth and beyond.

All money is being collected by registered charity White Ribbon Alliance and will be transferred to the indemnity account once we reach our target.
