Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) are now found in many locations and can be used by members of the public to deliver a potentially lifesaving shock to a person who has collapsed with a cardiac arrest – but only if this is given as soon as possible. We had been hoping to purchase an AED for the synagogue, to be mounted in a special cabinet on the front of the building, but there has unfortunately been a large and unexpected demand on funds, caused by a mechanical breakdown in the heating system.
The cost of the AED and cabinet is £1400 and we are launching a special appeal for donations. Please help us reach this target – it’s not much to pay for a life!
