About
After Alf unfortunately pulled out of the competition, I have stepped in to take his place in Pavilion Dance's Business Come Dancing! I’m not a natural dancer and truly struggle with any sense of rhythm, watch me clap along to a song and you will see what I mean, however I love a challenge and to try something new provided there is no danger involved! When Julie approached me, I said no to start, however to raise money for such a positive purpose meant I had to say yes, living with Parkinson’s and Dementia affects many people locally and to attend a class, move, stretch and feel alive is such a constructive thing we must do all we can. The TV documentary with Jeremy Paxman helped me appreciate how living with Parkinson’s can be rewarding if you get the support you need. Organised by Pavilion Dance in Bournemouth, this annual event raises funds for their outreach work within the community – including their dance programmes for older adults living with Parkinson’s and Dementia. I am being taught by Heathland’s Activity Co-ordinator Julie who is the Tap Dance teacher at Pavilion Dance and together they will be showing that Heathland House is on the ‘Sunny Side of the Street’ at a Black-Tie Gala Dinner on Saturday 19th November.
