Please join us, in fundraising to install four defibrillators along Aberavon Beach Promenade and new research into Heart Failure with The British Heart Foundation.
Defibrillation within 3–5 minutes of collapse can produce survival rates up to 50–70% and less than 2% of people have an automated external defibrillator (AED) deployed before the ambulance arrives.
This is a personal topic for us both. Ryan’s father passed away on Aberavon Beach promenade during a heart attack on May 2019. Tom’s father has a chronic heart condition. We aim to raise awareness and increase the possibility of members of the public having access to a defibrillator; in the event of a suspected heart attack. This will increase an individuals’ chance of survival if defibrillators are nearby.
As a community and further afield, Aberavon Beach is well utilised for well-being and physical health; more so since Covid-19. People appreciate the facilities it offers from dog-walking, surfing to eating out. People want to enjoy using what is available both locally and for those travelling to the attractions; and to feel safe.
Please help us to save lives, in raising money to access defibrillators at Aberavon Beach and fund more research into Heart Failure with The British Heart Foundation.
