The annual "Aardvarks vs Beavers Day" is a fitting tribute to Duncan Speake - a man who loved friends and sport and family, and generally having fun. Old friends come from all over the world to our little village for a touch rugby game, some beer, and singing with drams of whisky round a fire-pit built in his honour. This year marked the tenth get together, something worth celebrating - but also a good opportunity to raise some money to continue to fight a horrible disease which affects far too many people. Dunc was introduced to Prof Justin Stebbing in 2017 and loved his attitude of fight not flight. Justin said his aim was for Dunc to see his son go to University, and that was exactly the approach Dunc needed. Sadly they didn't quite achieve that goal, but it gave Dunc even more resolve to battle the disease, which he did with incredible grace and strength.
