The Scout section at 10th Warrington West are challenging themselves once again, this year by walking the length of a marathon (26.2 miles) over the course of a weekend. They will each be cooking for themselves, setting up camp, carrying their own gear and navigating the way. No easy task for young people aged 10.5 years to 14 years, but we have every confidence that they will rise to the challenge and succeed, and of course along the way they will be learning skills for life. Our group are fundraising for two main events at the moment. Firstly to pay the food for the event of the year - Chamboree - this is a week long camp which is the highlight of every Scout's diary! Secondly, two members of our group, Jess and Ellis, have been selected to attend the World Scout Jamboree in 2023. They will be heading out to South Korea with a group of young people from all across the UK. 9 young people in total have been selected from Warrington West, we are over the moon that two members of our group were lucky enough to be chosen! All funds will be distributed firstly to pay for the Chamboree food bill, any remaining funds will be sent to the WSJ2023 individual fundraising pots for Jess and Ellis. They need to raise a whopping £8700 before March 2023! Thankyou so much for helping by supporting our young people. We truly appreciate it.
